Summit came to play on Senior Night and Pack the House night and drove to a convincing victory over a game MH Squad. The night started out great for Summit before the first whistle as Danielle Scott and Megan Osmulski were honored for their contributions to the program as senior co-captains. Then in an awards ceremony to commemorate Danielle Scott's 1000th point, Summits two past 1000 point scorers, Lindsay Burns and Renee Green, who were surprise guests, participated in the ceremony. It was looking like a great night in Summit, and when the varsity raced to an 8-0 lead it was looking even better. Most of the damage was done inside by Scott, who was getting great feeds from Jamie Osmulski and Jenna Wilson in the paint. The second quarter saw Summit's shooting accuracy fall off to 4-13, and only some nice ball handling by Melissa Scott and rebounding by Alex Reid kept Summit's lead intact. With the crowd buzzing in anticipation, Summit began to apply much greater full court pressure and generated a lot of turnovers. Scott added points from the outside and Shannon Murphy scored a tough hoop underneath. With a 30-18 lead and the seniors playing their last game, Coach was able to substitute freely in the fourth quarter. The play opened up with Katelyn Allocco hitting a nice jumper and also making a great pass to Danielle Scott in the key for an easy hoop. Scott had 9 in the quarter and left with 2 minutes to go to a thunderous ovation, as did Osmulski. In the final minutes the younger players got their chance, and Deanna Nelson and Abby Mell were tough under the boards and Danielle Allocco did a nice job handling the ball, feeding a wide open Emily Cristaldi for an NBA three pointer. Scott finished her last regular season game with a great line: 27 points, 12 rebounds and two steals. Osmulski's trademark toughness under the boards and fighting for loose balls, as well as her three-point shooting were also on display for the crowd and the seniors did not disappoint them. It was a great way for them to end their home court careers.

JV Game

Won 45-32  The Summit JV was tested by a sound MH team before pulling away for a 45-32 victory in Summit. The story of today’s game can be summed up in two words; Candace Marchell.  She recorded a double-double, hitting on 9-19 from the field for 18 points and pulling down 12 boards.   She got nice support and an all around great game from Cassie Hall, who had 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Emily Cristaldi lit up the first quarter with consecutive threes, and Courtney Wheeler had a monstrous first quarter with 6 points on some acrobatic drives to the hoop. Abby Mell, Claire Cummins and Mickey Brown helped control the boards for Summit, and Michelle Rickley, Amanda Corrigan and Najla Austin all contributed solid defense and  But the rest of the game belonged to Marchell, who scored 18 of Summit remaining 27 points after the first quarter, and played stifling defense, with 4 blocked shots.
