Summit traveled to Par Hills for consecutive games after dominating Dover the night before.  Any thought of a letdown was an afterthought as the primary goal of the night was to see if senior Danielle Scott would get her 1000th point.  The crowd from Summit was huge as friends and family armed with banners and gifts were all there anticipating the moment.  The game started well for Summit and with Jamie Osmulski hawking the ball all over the court and Jenna Wilson penetrating to the basket the Lady Hilltoppers took a 10-5 lead at the end of one.  The second quarter started well with Danielle Allocco hitting a three but from then on it was tough to buy a basket. Some good rebounding by Shannon Murphy and Katelyn Allocco kept the score down, and Par Hills, sometimes triple teaming Scott, kept her off the board.  Only a last second shot from Alex Reid from the left corner got Summit back to a 4 point lead, and the Hilltoppers knew going into the locker room that they had a lot of work to do.

The second half started and Summit’s defensive prowess was on full display, creating havoc in the backcourt by pressing, with Deanna Nelson and Melissa Scott coming up with steals, and the duo of Jamie Osmulski and Alex Reid, who had 4 steals in the second half among them, completely shut down Par Hills star guard, the same player that lit the Hilltoppers up last year.  This year she was held to zero pints from the field and 1 foul shot, on a technical foul call! With a basket by Megan Osmulski to end the quarter the lead was 23-15 as Summit held Par Hills to 1 point.  But Scott was held to no points in the quarter, and the crowd was growing restless.  The fourth quarter started off well for Summit, as the defense generating numerous Par Hills turnovers, and with Murphy hitting on two shots and Jamie Osmulski one, the lead grew.  As the Par Hills guard began to press, Reid had a nice steal at midcourt, flicking the ball towards the Summit basket, picking up the loose ball and finding a streaking Deanna Nelson underneath for a nice lay up. With the crowd cheering on the Lady Hilltoppers, Danielle Scott began to assert her will underneath.  After one of her 11 rebounds she put back a bucket, and another, and at the 4:05 mark a nice pass from her sister Melissa found her underneath at the left post. With her signature fade away jump shot, Scott buried the basket for her 1000th point.  The crowd from both sides rose to cheer as Summit called a time out and her teammates mobbed her on the sideline. Play resumed and the Summit girls were all pumped up.  Reid had a nice lay up and foul shot, Osmulski had a tough drive, and Scott finished the scoring with another bucket. She finished with 14 points and 3 steals in a complete performance.   Summit’s victory was Scott’s win, as her long 4-year quest to 1000, along with re-invigorating the Summit girls program, was achieved.  The center came out of the locker room to find the whole Summit cheering section waiting to congratulate her, and a banner signifying her achievement signed by everyone in attendance.
