The Summit Lady Hilltoppers methodically took out Parsippany today in an unusual 4 PM start and won handily. Summit opened up pressing and took Parsippany out of its game, and got some nice scores inside from Candy Marchell, Danielle Scott and Alex Reid. It was 6-4 when Megan Osmulski hit two key threes to end the period, after missing her first two shots. The second quarter was similar, with more balanced scoring from Shannon Murphy, who also had 4 rebounds, Jamie Osmulski, who had 3 steals to go along with her 6 game points. Summit's defense was strong, alternating zone looks that seemed to stifle Parsippany. In the third quarter, Parsippany was looking to narrow the gap, but they forgot to cover Megan Osmulski. Three times down the court Summit advanced, and three times they left her open for a three point shots. And three times Osmulski found nothing but net! It was the best three point performance of her career and possibly of all time in Summit girls basketball, where most who were there are sure no one has taken 5 consecutive three point shots and made them all. With the lead widened thanks to Osmulski, Parsippany stepped up the pressure, but some good solid ball handling by Deanna Nelson, Jenna Wilson, Melissa Scott and Emily Cristaldi kept the ball out of their hands, and Katelyn Allocco and Danielle Allocco scored half the teams fourth quarter points down the stretch to hold off Parsippany.
