Summit scored a convincing victory over a tough Weequahic squad in Summit. The Lady Hilltoppers had three girls in double figures for the first time this season, and the balanced scoring took the attention off of Summit's leader, Danielle Scott, who nevertheless scored 11. This game belonged to two sophomores, Jamie Osmulski and Shannon Murphy. Osmulski used her patented tough ball hawking to create turnovers and generate lay-ups, but her outside scoring prowess was also on display, as she hit her first three pointer of the year. Not to be outdone, her sister Megan, the teams leading 3-point shooter, drained two three's in the second half. And with Weequahic paying attention to Scott, Murphy was able to post up and score from underneath. Using her great reach, Murphy hit on 5 of 6 from the field, many shots with defenders all over her, and had 5 boards. With the scoring burden off her shoulders, Scott was able to take control of the boards, and her 14 rebounds were the most this season. Osmulski's 15 led the team, who also got some nice contributions from Katelyn Allocco who had 4 points, and Melissa Scott, who did a good job handling the ball against Weequahic's tough defense.

JV Game

Won 48-33 In a very physical game, the JV Lady Hoopsters took everything Weequahic could dish out and handed them a convincing 48-33 beating in SummitSummit got going early and took a 10-4 lead as Candy Marchell played strong underneath and scored 6 points.  In the second quarter the offenses opened up and Emily Cristaldi, who had 7 assists, and Cassie Hall, who had a strong game (12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), countered Weequahic’s strong drives to the hoop.  Coach wisely used his bench in the third quarter, and they responded by widening the lead.  Mickey Brown hit a nice fade away underneath, and Amanda Corrigan and Deanna Nelson provided stifling defense. Weequahic made a run in the fourth by hitting two Three pointers, but some nice work by Najla Austin and Abby Mell, who combined for 6 of Summits 11 points in the quarter, kept Weequahic from mounting a serious challenge. Summit worked hard to keep Weequahic off the boards, and Mell, who had 7 boards, and Nelson, who had 4, did a great job against a strong rebounding team.
