Summit scored the first run of the game in the top of the 3rd inning. With two outs, Eddie Hagan singled and Pitcher Evan Chang doubled to put Summit ahead 1-0. However, GL came back with two runs in their half of the inning. That was all the scoring until the 6th inning. In the top of the 6th inning Summit tied the game. After two outs, Tim Spangler drew a walk, Tim Cotter singled and Lackaye walked to load the bases. After a GL pitching change, Eric Della Piazza was walked to force in the run. Again , GL came back with runs. This time they added 4 runs on 4 hits to clinch their victory

Chang started and pitched well for 4 innings. Chang left having thrown only 58 pitches and was replaced by Kenny Miller who started well but succumbed in the 6th inning. Mike Montero came on to get the final out of the 6th inning.
