Summit got off on the wrong foot when Hanover Park Scored 2 runs off 2 hits, 2 summit errors and a walk. Summit responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Eric Della Piazza hit a clean single to center and Eddie Hagen sacrificed him to second. Evan Chang singled to send Della Piazza to third. Tim Spangler hit a high pop that the second baseman dropped. Chang had held up at first, so was forced at second, but Della Piazza scored. Tim Cotter's single was followed by Kevin Lackaye's double, driving in one run, and Matt Carbone's single, driving in the final two runs.

Unfortunately, Hanover Park bounced back with 4 runs on 2 home runs, a single and 2 walks. Meanwhile the HP pitcher settled down and allowed Summit just two hits and no runs the remainder of the game.

Mike Montero took the mound for the 3rd inning. Thanks to three hits, three walks and one error HP scored four runs. Hanover Park added 3 unearned runs in the 5th inning and the game ended 14-4.
