Parsippany 0 0 0 0 0

Summit received the opening kick-off and Tim Yager, with the help of excellent blocking, returned it 80 yards for the score. He then converted the first of his 4 successful extra points. Parsippany had trouble with their center snaps a couple of times and a safety ensued making the score 9-0.

Tony Masterfano returned the kickoff, but unfortunately was seriously injured with a broken ankle. This did not deter the Hilltoppers, who marched down the field with Chett Joffe’s roll out resulting in a 24 yard touchdown run.

On their next possession, another Joffe roll out (waggle) left Tim Yager wide open for a 26 yard touchdown pass. After the defense stopped Parsippany, Tim Yager’s punt return to the 10 and Nick Kitsos run resulted in another Summit score to end the first half.

The second half saw numerous substitutions but the defensive side was still strong holding Parsippany scoreless. On the offensive side the highlight was seeing tackle Drew Haley playing fullback and carrying the ball on several plays.

With a final score of 30-0, the freshman while excited, were more excited to see the varsity break their winless streak and win 49-28 at Parsippany this night.
