Summit's next possession was terminated by an interception at the Mendham 40 yard line. After an exchange of punts Mendham took possession on their 41 yardline. Two running plays moved the ball to Summit's 18. The Summit defense stiffened and forced a 4th down field goal attempt. It turned out to be a fake and Mendham shoveled a pass to the holder who scored easily. That score really took the air out of Summit and just before the end of the half Mendham scored again on a 17 yard pass.
Summit was unable to get a drive going in the 2nd half and Mendham got the lone score in the half.
