By early in the 2nd quarter Summit found itself down 14-0 and the outlook looked dismal. Parsippany's McFadden had handled the ball twice from scrimmage and had scored twice. Once on a 20 yard run and once on a 59 yard run. He was the fastest running back Summit had seen this year. Fortunately, Summit made some defensive adjustment and contained McFadden for the rest of the game.

Summit got on the scoreboard with a 53 yard drive, aided by an interference call. Edgar Ozols covered the final 20 yards on a keeper. Parsippany answered with a 64 yard drive, capped by a 25 yard TD pass. In the final minutes of the 1st half Summit took to the air. Ozols hit Kevin Delle Donne for 26 yards, then Matt Rea for 14 yards , Kevin Lockhart for 12 more yards and Mike Vitale for 13 yards and a TD. The half ended with Summit down 21-13.

The 2nd half began with an exchange of punts and Summit had the ball on Parsippany's 45 yard line. Three plays later Matt Ruark scampered 33 yard for the first of his 3 TDs. Now Summit was within one point (21-20). Summit forced Parsippany to Punt and Summit took over on their 43 yard line. On the next play Ruark went 57 yards to give Summit its first lead of the season.

The end of 3rd quarter produced a wild sequence. It began when Ozols hit Delle Donne on a 69 TD pass, but it was called back because Ozols had crossed the line of scrimmage. Three plays later Ozols hit Thomas Baker for a 48 yd TD but it was called back for holding. On the next play Matt Rea raced 60 yards for a TD that wasn't called back. Suddenly Summit held a 35-21 lead. But the fireworks weren't over. Parsippany completed a 53 yard pass to the Summit 4 yardline. Summit put up a great goal line stand that gave Parsippany a 4th and 1 foot. Summit stopped the runner on 4th down, but he fumbled and Parsippany recovered in the end zone and Parsippany was back within 1 TD.

Summit put the game away when Mike Montero intercepted a Parsippany pass on the Summit 20 and returned it to the Parsippany 12. Two plays later Thomas Baker scored on a 5 yrd run. Summit's final score came on a 35 yard run by Ruark.
