Perth Amboy, NJ, Sun. Sept. 9 2007 -  The Summit B team opened the 2007 season with a decisive 36-0 shutout on the road vs. the Perth Amboy Red Raiders. The biggest challenge of the day turned out to be finding the field. Once the Hilltoppers located their destination they locked in and set their sights on a solid defensive and special teams play. On the 3rd play from scrimmage FS Austin Carbone intercepted a 3rd and 9 pass and returned it for a 35 yard touchdown for Summit. Mike Badgley converted the ensuing kick. The Red Raiders second possession was stopped by the Summit “D” and forced a 4th down and 12 punt that was returned 60 yards by RB Jamie White for a TD. The Badgley Kick was good. On Perth Amboys third possession the “D” once again force a 4th and 12 punt that was again returned 60 yards for a TD by White – this road looks familiar! The first quarter ended with a 22-0 Summit lead without Summit’s offense finding their way on to the field.

Once the summit offense took the field they successfully navigated their game plan for the remaining three quarters with touchdowns by HB Austin Carbone on a 30 yard run; and HB Nick Watts on a 49 yard sprint down the right sideline.

DT Brendan Huston and LB Frank Perier helped secure the summit victory with timely fumble recoveries for the Hilltopper 36-0 shutout. Next up for the Summit B Team home vs. Springfield at Metro Homes Field on Sunday September 16th at 3:00.
