Summit's opener got off to a bad start when the team hit only 2 of its first 14 shots and fell behind 11-5, Chris Kehoe finally found the range in the 2nd quarter with 7 points but Summit ended the half having hit only 7 of 29 shots and still behind by six (22-16). Shooting improved in the 2nd half . The 3rd quarter scoring featured 8 points by Kendal Baker and 7 points by Jordan Healy. However, Summit fell behind by 10 points as they couldn't find a way to shutdown Mendham's big center (Cisco) and forward (Berish), They finished with 22 and 18 points respectively. Kehoe (7 points) and Baker (6 points) led a 4th quarter charge, but were never able to get closer than 5 points.

Contributing to the loss was the fact that 18 fouls were called against Summit while only 4 were called against Mendham. Mendham went to the line 20 times for 11 points, while Summit didn't get to take a single foul shot. Kehoe and Baker led the scoring with 14 points apiece. Jordan Healy was also in double digits with 12 points. Kehoe led the rebounding with eight.
