Summit's hopes for the State Tournament was crushed by St. Peter's Prep. Summit stumbled in the 2nd quarter and managed only 7 points while St Peter's ran up 16 and a 29-17 lead. Summit had difficulty coping with the speed , quickness and aggressive play of St. Peter's. To makes matter worse, St. Peter's beefy 6-7 center dominated things under the hoop.
Summit clawed back to within 5 points (36-31) in the 3rd quarter led by Jordan Healey's 6 points and James Kennedy's 4 points. Kennedy started the 4th quarter with a basket to close the gap to 3 points and give the Summit fans some hope. Unfortunately, St. Peter's roared back with 10 of the next 12 points. Three pointers by Andre Torres and Eddie Hagan made the score 47-43, but it was too late.
Healey led Summit with 17 points and was the main player willing to take on the St. Peter's aggressive defense. Chris Kehoe had 9 rebounds.
