Morris Hills took command of the with 3 runs in each of the first two innings. A walk, a double and a Homerun did the damage in the 1st inning, while a hit batter, a walk and 3 singles led to 3 more runs in the second. Summit scored a run in the top of the 2nd on a double by Tim Spangler and a single by Nick Oristanio. The 3rd inning was scoreless so going to the top of the 4th Summit was down 6-1. Summit made it 6-2 when Spangler singled, Oristanio singled and Eric Forsell picked up an RBI on an infield out. Unfortunately, Morris Hill came right back with with a single, a stolen base and an other single to add a run with 1 out. A base on balls put Morris Hills runners at 1st and 2nd and precipitated a pitching change by Summit. Eddie Hagan took the mound and completed the inning without further scoring.
Morris Hills added two more runs on a triple, a double and a sacrifice fly to put Summit into a 9-2 hole. The top of the 6th brought a glimmer of hope for the Summit faithful. Kenny Miller was safe on a fielder's choice, Oristanio was hit by the pitcher and Forsell singled to load the bases. Ben Roessle singled to drive in 2 runs and put runners on first and second. A wild pitch moved Forsell and Roessle into scoring position with only one out, the score 9-4 and the top of the order coming to bat. Sadly, a strikeout and a fly out to right ended the chances of a big inning. Morris Hills added two unearned runs in the 6th to take an 11-4 lead and Summit went down 1-2-3 in the final inning.
