Evan Chang took the mound to start this 1st round game in the Union County Tournament. However, it was pretty clear from the start that the injury he suffered in the Parsippany game was preventing him being in top form. He faced 10 batters before he called it a day. Tom Casey took over from Chang and closed out the inning after giving up one more run. All told Westfield put 9 runs up in the 1st. Casey finished the final 3 1/3 innings Westfield added 2 more runs in the 2nd from a single and a homerun. One more run (unearned) in the 4th completed Westfield's scoring.
Meanwhile, Westfield pitched their #1, Chris Jenkins, who is rumored to be a 1st round draft possibility and can throw over 90 miles per hour. He had a no-hitter going into the final inning (the 5th) until Eric Forsell cracked a clean single.
