Winning pitcher Kenny Miller tossed a two-hitter and went 3-for-5 with four RBI for Summit (9-9-1), which won for the sixth time in seven games. Even though the closing date for the State tournament has been extended to Saturday night, if a team is .500 at the end of Friday they have qualified regardless of what happens on Saturday. Tom Casey came on in the 7th and closed the game without allowing a run.
