Lost 2-0 (25-18, 26-24) In a typically tight match between these 2 schools, the difference in the match was the ace production of the Marauders versus the Hilltoppers. The Marauders won that battle and the match. The Hilltoppers hit for 20 kills led by the 7 kill performance of Sr. Captain Abby Mell who also led the team with 8 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Jeanelle Augustin tallied 4 kills and added 4 aces in her most efficient outing of the season. Sr. Captain Liz Honold added 11 assists and 3 digs while Markeetah Anderson ended with 5 digs.

Won 2-0 (25-14, 25-13) The Lady Hilltoppers picked up their second win of the season in a dominant performance at Par Hills. The team's 20 kills were the 2nd highest of the season and the team continued their torrid serving and defensive play. Abby Mell had a stunning 17 service points, was perfect from the service line and added 5 aces. Abby was also tied for the team lead in kills with co-captain Ilia Fiene who also added 2 aces to the cause. Liz Honold had a season high 11 assists and 3 aces while new varsity addition Megan Trindell chipped in with 3 kills.

Won 2-0 (25-22, 25-22) Congratulations to the Lady Hilltoppers Volleyball team for their sweep of Millburn yesterday afternoon. The Varsity squad earned a hard fought 25-22, 25-22 win for their 3rd win of the season behind the serving of captain Liz Honold who had 4 aces and the combined offense of captains Ilia Fiene and Abby Mell who combined for 11 of Summit's 20 kills. Jen Butler and Lucy Wise were a defensive force at the net, combining for 3 of the 4 blocks registered by the team.

Lost 2-0 (25-15, 25-3) The Hilltoppers were in the match against highly ranked Chatham in set 1. Chatham, #4 in NJ, held a slim 14-13 lead and the Hilltoppers seemed unphased by the Cougar attack. Unfortunately, the Hilltopper offense couldn't keep the ball in play in key situations. The lead soon ballooned to 19-14 and Summit couldn't react to that surge.
Set #2 was a poor display of passing and focus by the Hilltoppers and they did not muster much more than a few points in set 2. The match was over rather quickly and quietly. |
