The much anticipated start to the 2008 season looked pretty good through the first quarter but as the game wore on Parsippany Hills gained the upper hand. On the first play of Par Hills' 2nd possession they connected tor a 67 yard touchdown pass. However, On the ensuing possession Summit went 60 yards in 6 plays to tie the score. The drive was highlighted by a 42 yard reception by Matt Rea and some fine running by Dwaine Dabney. Kevin McNany covered the final yard. In the 2nd quarter, after forcing a Par Hills Punt, Suimmit took over on their 20 yard line. On 2nd down there was a mix up and the ball was center to an empty backfield and was rolling into the end zone. Summit managed to fall on it just before it went into the endzone. On the next down Summit tried a quick kick, but only managed to get out to the Summit 29. With 4th and 3 on the 22 Par Hills managed 4 yards and a first down on the Summit 18. Two plays later Par Hills scored on an 18 yard run. After an exchange of Punts Par Hills got the ball at mid field with about a minute left in the half. They advanced to the Summit 1 yd line by virtue of a broken play and a pair of passes. Par Hills was pushed back to the 21 on a pair of penalties and had to settle for a 38 yard field Goal to end the Half ahead 17-7.
The second half turned out to be all Par Hills. In the first half their offense was heavily weighted toward the passing game (18 attempts to only 9 rushes) , the second half relied more heavily on the run. On Summit's first possession of the 2nd half Par Hills recovered a fumble on the Summit 17 and four plays later were in the endzone. Summit was unable to mount a serious drive and Par Hills scored again to put the game out of reach.
