Lost 20-6 Summit traveled to Berkeley Heights to play last years Super Bowl Champions.  Summit played Berkeley Heights even for three quarters but the Berkeley Heights team prevailed in the 4th quarter.  Summits scored its touchdown on a pass from Charlie Terry to Andrew Masterfano.
Sun 09/21 Home Richmond Boro 3:00 p.m.
Lost 18-13 Summit lost a heartbreaker to Staten Island with 40 seconds left in the game.  Summit scored first on a 30 yard romp by Colm Dougherty.   Summit’s D was tough in the first half and Staten Islands runners were thrown for losses by James Gonnella, Josh Veloso, Matt Oristanio and William DelaneySummit’s second score came on a long pass from Charlie Terry to Andrew Masterfano with the extra point being run in by Colm Dougherty.  The score stayed Summit 13 Staten Island 12 until with 40 seconds left Staten Island broke off tackle for a touchdown of 35 yards.
Sun 09/28 Away Springfield 3:00 p.m.
Won 12-0 After 2 tough losses the Summit B team traveled to the swamps of Springfield to rebound with a convincing 12-0 win.  The score does not indicate the dominance with which the Summit team played in ankle deep mud.  The touchdowns were scored by Matt Oristanio & Andrew MasterfanoDenzel Norris had a great day carrying the ball in the tough conditions breaking off some long runs and overpowering tacklers.  The Summit defense was dominant all day and was led by Robbie Walsh w/ a blocked pass, Oscar Dawson & Michael Facchinei on the D line.  The safety tandem of Jake Paytas & Sam Bebout kept the Springfield air attack grounded.
Sun 10/05 Home Millburn 3:00 p.m.
Won 13-6 Summit won its second in a row to even their record a 2-2.  Summit hosted Millburn in what turned into a 13 – 6 win for the Hilltoppers.  The Hilltoppers were led on D by Danny Childers at safety & the tandem of Thomas Gargiulo & Chris Pohl at nose guard.  Matt Sajer caused a Millburn fumble at the Summit 1 yard line to blunt the Millburn opening drive.  Summit’s first score came on a screen pass from Charlie Terry to Colm Dougherty.  The 45 yard touchdown play was made possible because of great blocking downfield by Brian Hadley, Eric Lyman and the rest of the Offensive line.  Summits final score came on an interception by Andrew Masterfano.
