The Summit JV's, unbeaten in six games, travelled to Chatham to take on the Cougar JV's who were also unbeaten through six games. The Hilltoppers prevailed 27-12 to improve their record to 7-0. Chatham scored first on a 60 yard fumble return in the first quarter. The kick failed. Summit responded with a 5 yard run by Quarterback Pat Huck. Alex Melendez kicked the extra point to give Summit a 7-6 lead. That lead did not last long. Chatham responded with a 25 yard pass for a touchdown. The kick failed and Chatham took a 12-7 lead at halftime.

The second half was all Summit. Fullback Danny Feeney scored on a 7 yard run and Alex Melendez kicked the extra point. After Summit's defense, led by AJ Jennings and. Ryan O'Malley, stopped the Cougars, Huck connected on an 81 yard touchdown pass to Marcel Godino. Melendez kicked the extra point to give Summit a 21-12 lead after three quarters.
Huck connected with Godino once again for a 14 yard touchdown pass to finish the scoring at 27-12. Outstanding:defensive plays were turned in by Ed Engel and Jake Hall who made timely interceptions to stop Cougar drives.

The Summit JV's will host Morris Hills next Monday, October 27th at Metro Homes Fields at 4 p.m.
