Summit played a great first half as they held Parsippany Hills to 16 points while running up 34 points. It looked like Summit was on its way to an easy victory. Andre Torres had scored all of his game high 14 points in the first 16 minutes. The Summit faithful were riding high.
Things began to change in the 3rd quarter as Par Hills started to close the gap. Midway into the the 3rd quarter Dwaine Dabney skied for a rebound and came down on his head. It made a terrible thump. Dwaine lay shaking on the court and in great pain. The Emergency Squad was called and about 10 minutes later he immobilized ,hoisted on a gurney and on his way to Overlook. This really scared everyone in the gym. After a brief warm-up the game resumed but Summit never found its pace again. By the end of the quarter Parsippany Hills had cut the lead in half. (to 9 points). With 4 minutes left the Summit lead was 8 points . Par Hills turned up the defensive pressure and Summit made turnover after turnover. With about 40 seconds left Par Hills closed to 3 points (50-47). Jordan Healy hit on two free throws to make the score 52-47 with 18 seconds . Par Hills made a practically uncontested layup but Healy made another freethrow and sealed the victory.
