Summit had the higher seed in this 8-9 matchup, but Scotch Plains had forged its record in the Watchung Conference, considered by many to be the toughest basketball conference in the State. Their experience in that aggressive world paid off. Summit took the early lead when Kendall Baker and Andre Torres hit their first 3-point attempts. However, Scotch Plains dominated the game from then on, leading 15- 6 at the end of the quarter and never looked back. Summit played hard to the bitter end, but Scotch Plains just had more weapons.
The season ended with a winning record of 13-11, a nice improvement over last season. Jordan Healy, who gave 100% game after game, finished the season as Summit's leading scorer with 292 points (12.2 points/game) and was by far the leading rebounder with 139 (49 more than his nearest team mate.)
