Summit took the court against the #4 Seed Union as a huge underdog, and the 1st quarter gave every indication that it might be a total blowout. . Union put the first 13 points on the scoreboard . six minutes went by before Summit could get a shot to drop. Union wound up sitting on a comfortable 15-4 lead. Things started to change in the 2nd quarter as Summit came alive . In fact, Summit rallied to close to within 5 points before a union spurt at the end of the quarter restored the 11 point lead at the end of the half.
Summit put out a maximum effort for four quarters, but the initial 11 point lead was too much to overcome. It is worth noting that over the final 3 quarters Union barely edged Summit 41-37.
Andre Torres was Summit's high scorer with 13 points .
