Summit‘s Lady Hilltoppers watched patiently as Morris Hills celebrated senior day for their 4 senior players in a lovely ceremony. Then the Hilltoppers opened up a 16-5 lead on the strength of a balanced scoring attack, led by Emily Cristaldi with 7, Kate Martino with 5, and Jenna Wilson and Alex Reid with 2 a piece. But as they have done all season, the Lady Hilltoppers let their opponent back into the game in the second quarter, where they have now been outscored during the entire season. When the dust settled as Morris Hills scored at the buzzer, the lead was down to 20-18. The ladies walked on the court for the third quarter quietly, but they must have gotten quite a pep talk in the locker room, as they unleashed a barrage of three pointers from Martino, Wilson and Cristaldi to take a commanding 39-26 lead at the end of three. With Cassie Hall, who had 12 rebounds for the game, and Reid controlling the boards, the guards took over the offense against Morris Hill’s porous zone. Cristaldi and Martino did not let up in the fourth, scoring 7 apiece, and Summit received some nice minutes from Claire Cummins and Michelle Burian to dominate a 59-42 game.
