What was thought to be a tough contest turned out to be a rout as Mendham was down two players. Nevertheless the starters put on quite a show in Mendham, pressing on defense and swarming on offense to register a 17-0 first quarter shutout. Even with fresh troops off the bench the summit juggernaut could not be stopped, and the lead grew to 35-4 at halftime. Emily Cristaldi had a great first quarter, and Cassie Hall had a great all around game, scoring 6, and adding 6 boards, 2 assists and two steals. The second half was played by the girls off the bench who did a great job. Najla Austin, who is a rebounding machine, totaled 7 boards, Michelle Burian drained another 3, and Kelly Osmulski scored 7 points in her most minutes as a varsity player. The unsung star was Claire Cummins, who had a flawless game from the field, shooting 3 for 3 to go with 2 rebounds.
