The Summit Youth Hockey Club opened up their second hockey season with a hard fought game versus an experienced Bridgwater team with a two goal loss. Summit worked hard for three fast paced periods. Goaltender Max Graeb stood on his head, defensemen  Drew Higgins, Jarrett Ross, Riley Flynn and John Burns played tough D, and forwards   Austin Sayre, Liam McLaughlin, Mike Badgley, Matt Maier, Kevin O'Malley, Will Strabley, Peter Brittian, Chris Butko, Tommy Kane and Nick Loudis, worked both ends all night long. Impressive start to the season and the bright outlook  to the season that lies ahead of the young Hilltoppers. Next up for Summit, Randolph, Sunday, Nov. 16 at 5:15 PM.

The Summit Youth Hockey Club ran into a tough Randolph team in game two. Playing with a short bench, the Hilltoppers hung in there for three periods. The Summit scoring came on a Drew Higgins goal assisted by John Burns in the first period, and a Mike Badgley goal in the second, assisted by Riley Flynn and James Strabley. The Summit Youth Hockey Club came out for its fourth game vs. Ridge and battled at both ends of the ice to a 6-6 tie. Goaltender Max Graeb had 27 saves for Summit. The Summit scoring was credited to Mike Badgley with four, and Liam McLaughlin and Austin Sayre with one each. Assists were credited to Matt Maier and Riley Flynn with two each and Nick Lioudis, Austin Sayre, Drew Higgins and James Strabley with one each. Highlight of game came on a sick behind the pass by Austin Sayre to set up a Hilltopper tying goal to start the tird period. Next up for Summit, Bernards, Friday, Dec 05 @ 6:30 PM.

The Summit Youth Hockey Club came out for its sixth game vs.cross town rival Chatham and took it to 'em with a 8-6 victory to put up their fist W of the season. The Hilltoppers out shot the Cougars 40-25 and boldly answered Chatham's three unanswered goals at a 6-6 tie to put Summit ahead for good with a goal by RW Mike Badgley to silence the very loud Cougar crowd and a huge insurance goal by D Jarrett Ross that followed to further quiet the ever so opinionated Cougar crowd. Goaltender Max Graeb had 19 saves for Summit. The Summit scoring was credited to Badgley and Chris Zanelli with three each, and Liam McLaughlin and Ross with one each. Assists were credited to Zanelli with two and Drew Higgins, Badgley, McLaughlin and John Burns with one each. Next up for Summit vs.Beacon Hill Club, Saturday, 11:45 @ BHC.

The Summit Youth Hockey Club came out for game eight vs. league leading Randolph and came up with a11-3 loss. After spotting Randolph’s No. 20 two of his five goals real early, the 10 players that came to play did not quit and played hard for the remainder and got in some good ice time. The Summit scoring was credited to F Mike Badgely with two goals, F Jarrett Ross with two assists  and F Matt Maier netting an unassisted goal for the Hilltoppers. The Summit Youth Hockey Club completed their 2nd season with first round playoff loss to 2nd seed Bridgewater by a score of 6-2. They came along way from their first game on November 7th and finished up with a strong performance in their final period together at BSA. Down 5-0, Summit answered Coach Ross’ challenge to skate hard for three shifts in the third and challenge Bridgewater in the final period of the game. The Hilltoppers answered the call and came up with two quick unassisted and unanswered goals by F Chris Zanelli and C Liam McLaughlin, and stellar play by goaltender Max Graeb inbetween the pipes.There was no quit in this team. Congratulations on a strong finish to a successful season and best of luck next season. The future looks bright for these young Hilltoppers.
