In many ways this was a story of two different games. The first half where Summit rolled ,almost without resistance, over a greatly over matched Bernards and the second half where Summit went deep into its bench, with every player seeing significant playing time. Summit took the opening kickoff and in 3 plays. Dwayne Dabney returned the kickoff to the Summit 48, then ran the ball to the Bernards 36. A pass to Matt Rea took it to the 16 yardline. Marcel Godino scored on a 16 yard pass from Joe Jaskolski. Alex Melendez kicked the extra point, the first of six consecutive kicks. Melendez is now 12 for 12 in successful PAT kicks.

Summit's 2nd TD came after a fumble was recovered by Jake Hall on the Bernards 31 yardline. Three plays later Shawn Hillas scored on a 5 yard pass. Just before the end of the quarter Summit covered 54 yards in 5 plays to make the score 21-0. The big play was a 43 pass to Godino. Brian Feeney scored on a 11 yard Jaskolski pass. The 2nd quarter started after a bad punt by Bernards gave Summit the ball on the Bernards 35. Jaskolski ran the ball to the 16 and Dabney took it in for the score from there. On the first play of Bernard's next possession Brian Feeney intercepted a pass and returned the ball to the Bernards 5. A 15 yard penalty moved it back to the 20, Rea gained back 10 of the yards, Jaskolski moved it to the 1 and he scored on the next play. Summit's final score of the half followed a Sam Russell interception. With Pat Huck at the helm Summit stayed with the running game. Sal Liberato, Peter Badgely, Stephen Whitman and Huck covered the 49 yards in 6 plays with Huck taking the ball in from the 1.

The 2nd half saw Matt Bringewatt take charge at QB and the Summit bench getting lots of play. The highlight of the half was a 75 yard kickoff return by Philip Jefferson.
