Summit vs Cranford 10/19/2009 | ||||||||||||||||||
|
The somewhat strange statistics deserve a little explantion. Cranford took the opening kick and consumed the entire 1st quarter with a 19 play drive for a score. They kicked off and Phillip Jefferson returned the ball to the Cranford 12. On Summit's first play from scrimmage Ryan Bringewatt scored, the PAT failed and the score was 6-6. The half ended with the score 6-6 but Cranford had run 38 plays from scrimmage to Summit's 4. On Cranford's first possession of the second half Summit blocked their punt and Andrew Perry scooped it up and ran 30 yards for the TD. Now Cranford had run off 42 plays to Summit's 4. After Cranford's next possession Jefferson ran the punt back 58 yards for a touchdown. With the Score standing 18-6 Summit had run 4 plays in the 1st half and none in the 2nd and the 3rd quarter was 2/3 over. The remainder of the game had a normal balance of plays, but in the final analysis Summit ran 21 plays from scrimmage to Cranford's 61. Yet Summit won 32-20. Amazing!
