Summit scored the first three baskets for a 6-0 lead. Delran roared back with seven straight points to take the lead. Summit regained the lead and was ahead as much as ten points in the secondquarter. Emily Cristaldi 's 14 points in the first half to help Summit to a 25-19 half time advantage.

At that point a Delran defender was assigned to stick to Cristaldi like glue. As a result, Cristaldi scored no points in the third period. In fact, Summit managed only six points, while Delran chalked up twelve, including a three-point shot at the buzzer that tied the score at 31-31 at the end of three quarters.

Delran took the lead at the start of the final period on a foul shot. Mishandling by three Summit players under the Delran basket let the ball slip to the lone Delran player in the melee, and she put it up for a basket to give Delran a 35-38 lead. With 1:16 remaining, and Delran leading 38-37, Cristaldi stole the ball and scored a layup to put Summit on top 39-38. At 0:28.5 Cristaldi made another steal that led to two made free throws that gave Summit a 3 point margin. Kate Martino followed with two more free throws, and Summit held on for the victory.
