Perennial powerhouse Gov. Livingston grabbed a 3 run lead in the top of the 1st inning and Summit played catch-up for the remainder of the game. At the end, GL still had that 3 run advantage. One of the Summit highlights occured in the bottom of the 1st when Nick Orestanio had a 2 out single and Ben Roessle hit a Home run over the centerfield fence to electrify the Summit fans. Roessle had a big day for Summit driving in 5 of Summit's 6 runs.
Summit added two more runs in the 5th. Joe Weil led off by getting on via an error and Matt Rea singled. A ground out advanced them to 2nd and 3rd and Roessle drove them both in with a single. Summit got their final 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Rea Singled to start the inning and Orestanio drew a walk. A wild pitch advanced the runners and a ground out by Roessle drove in Rea. Matt Dewald's two out single picked up Orestano. Pat Biorsak drew a walk to keep hopes alive, but it was not to be.
