Summit's fine run in the Sectional tournament effectively came to an end when Gov. Livingston erupted for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Summit had rallied for 2 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th to knot the game at 4 all. Pat Birosak had pitched well through five innings, allowing only 2 earned runs. However, a single, a strike out and a double to begin the 6th resulted in one run. At his point Kenny Miller took over the mound and Birosak left to the applause of the appreciative Hilltoppers fans.

A 6-3 ground out produced the 2nd out and it looked like Summit might get out of the inning giving up only one run, but a walk, a single and a home run put the game out of reach.

Summit made the most of its 4 hits but the GL bats were just too strong.

Summit's 2 runs in the 5th resulted when Ben Roessle got on via an error, Jay Crisfield doubled and Chris George singled. Two more came in the 6th via walks to Matt Rea and Roessle followed by a Matt Dewald double.
