Home Runs: Roessle(1)
While this game was not a thing of baseball beauty, there were a total of 11 errors, it was still an exciting game with many twists and turns. Johnson struck first with a run from a walk, a stolen base and a single . In the 2nd inning Johnson added two more (unearned) off a single, a double and a Summit error. So, entering the top of the 3rd Summit was down 3-0. Summit got on the scoreboard without getting a hit. Pat Huck drew an opening walk and after one out Kenny Miller was walked. Nick Oristanio got on via an error and Huck came home on a second infield error.

In the top of the 4th Matt Dewald and Jay Crisfield were walked. A single by Chris George loaded the bases. Joe Weil was safe on a error that resulted in Dewald and Crisfield scoring and leaving George on third. George came home on a wild pitch and Weil was driven in by Matt Rea's single. Four runs on 2 hits and an error and Summit had it's first lead of the game 5-3. Ben Roessle made it 6-3 in top top of the 5th with a solo Home Run, made all the more impressive because the wind was blowing hard in from left field.

Unfortunately Johnson rallied for 3 run in the bottom of the 5th on four singles. So Summit started the 6th with the game tied 6-6. Summit failed to score in the 6th in spite of starting with 3 walks to load the bases with no outs and the top of the order coming to bat. However, three straight outs ended the threat.

In the sixth Jay Crisfield took over from the starter Kenny Miller, whose pitch count was in the mid 90s. Crisfierld put down Johnson 1-2-3 to move to the 7th still tied. In the Summit 7th Roessle drew a walk , as did Dewald. A single by George drove in Roessle to give Summit a slim 1 run lead heading into the bottom of the 7th. The first Johnson batter hit a fairly straight forward ground ball but an error allowed the batter to be safe at first. The Summit faithful were heard to mutter "here we go again." But, Crisfield got one out on a fly ball to center. Then Rea made a great catch of a fly ball deep in foul territory, almost against the football bleachers, for the 2nd out. A walk put the winning run on base, but the next batter hit a hard ground ball that was scooped up by George thrown to first and the game was over. Crisfield was credited with the win.
