Pat Birosak pitched another complete game victory to allow Summit to move on to The Sectional Semifinals. Birosak allowed only 4 hits and one earned run.

Summit scored twice in the 1st inning when Matt Rea drew a base on balls and Kenny Miller laid down a nice sacrifice bunt. Matawan tried to get Rea at second and failed so Summit had runners at 1st and 2nd. A Nick Oristanio double drove in Rea and a sacrifice fly by Birosak scored Miller.

Summit's big bats came alive in the 3rd inning. After Miller was walked, Oristano's home run made the score 4-1. This was followed by back-to back doubles by Ben Roessle and Matt Dewald producing the 3rd run of the inning. Summit's final run came in the 5th inning. Roessle was walked, stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch. An RBI single by Birosak made the lead 6-2.

Matawan threatened in the 7th with a lead-off double. But 2nd baseman Chris George covered a lot of territory to haul in flyball for the 1st out. Joe Weil caught a sharp line drive, for the second out. Birosak uncharacteristically hit the next batter to raise the tension. But Pat got the final batter to fly out to Rea.

Summit will take on Gov. Livingston on Tuesday at GL.
