Summit picked up its first victory of the season behind the excellent pitching of Pat Birosak. Birosak went the full 7 innings allowing only 1 earned run and 3 hits. What is more, he gave up only one walk over the 7 innings.

Pingry struck first, scoring off a single, a hit batter, a pickoff error, and an infield out. Summit came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the second. Matt DeWald and Birosak singled to start the inning and were moved to 2nd and 3rd by Joe Weil's nice sacrifice bunt. Reid Van Sykle drove them both in with a single. Chris Geoge singled, Matt Rea walked and a Kenny Miller single drove in the 3rd run.

Summit added 4 more runs in the 4th inning. Van Sykle singled and was advanced by George's sacrifice bunt. A single by Miller was followed by Nick Oristanio's double. Ben Roessle singled, as did DeWald, and when it was all over 4 runs had scored.

Over the final 4 innings Birosak faced only 12 batters and permitted only one base runner.
