Summit 17 4 14 19 54
Johnson 16 14 15 22 67
Summit met Johnson for the third time this season in the Preliminary Round of the UCT and added credence to the old adage that it is tough to beat a team three time in a row. On Friday Summit had handily beaten Johnson by 14 points, but today it was different. Johnson decided to play a zone defense most of the game and, except for the 1st quarter, Summit seemed unable to crack the zone. In the 1st quarter Cris Cafiero scored four consecutive 3-pointers and Dwaine Dabney added another. As a result Summit actually led 17-16 at the end of the quarter. But it was all downhill from there. Unlike past games with Johnson, everything they threw up seemed to go in. Additionally, Summit kept turning the ball over without getting off a shot. In the 2nd Quarter Summit managed only 1 field goal to Johnson's 6. Starting the 4th quarter Summit was down 10 points. Early in the final quarter Summit did close to within 5 points but they allowed 3 uncontested layups and never recovered.

Cafiero was Summit's high scorer with 16 points.
