Linden 13 14 20 14 61
The likelihood that Summit would defeat the #2 team Union County was not high. But, this was an off year for Linden., so maybe. Unfortunately, Linden made up in quickness what they lacked in height. In the 1st quarter the Linden defensive pressure forced turnovers on the first four Summit possession. The only thing that kept things fairly close was some awesome defense in the paint by Matt Wholey who announced his presence by blocking 5 shots early on. Linden continued to build their lead and ended the half up by 10 points. The dam broke in the 3rd quarter when Summit managed only 2 points (a basket by Wholey) to Linden's 20 points. Linden continued to press on defense and trap at every opportunity. Their intense pressure resulted in 21 turnover on the part of the Hilltoppers. It is hard to win a game when you give up 21 possessions.

Matt Wholey was Summit's leading scorer with 8 points and he picked up 5 rebounds.
