Summit fans made the long trek to Manasquan only to find that this State Tournament game would go on without the services of three important players. David Newton, who was still injured, and a pair of players who had been suspended and would not be playing. The first quarter gave Summit a taste of what was to come when Manasquan's Matt Vadas drilled three consecutive 3-pointers. He went on to score 20 of Manasquan's 33 1st half points. In spite of the opening barrage , 8 points by Matt Wholey and two from Chris Cafiero allowed summit to tie the score at 10-10. Oddly though the score board operator failed to put Wholey's last field goal on the scoreboard. At the quarter there was some heated discussion, but neither of the scorebooks had recorded the field goal, During half time a ref agree that that scoreboard failed to record a basket, but by that time the game was almost out of reach. Manasquan went on to out score Summit in every quarter and coasted to an easy victory. The short handed Hilltopper's fought hard but were out gunned. So, Summit's season came to a fairly sad ending.

Wholey gave it everything he had and led the Summit scoring with 10 points and led the defense with 10 rebounds. Manasquan's Vadas is the real deal and he finished the game with 26 points
