Sat 04/24 Madison-Boro Away  11:00AM Won 12-3 Madison entered the game with a 8-1 record, so everyone expected a hard fought battle. However, Summit took a 3-1 lead in the first quarter behind goals By Marcel Godino, Tim Yager and Nick Kilkowski. Madison started the 2nd quarter with a goal to narrow the score to 3-2. Michael Ford scored to regain a two goal lead. With 4 minutes left in the half Godino's 2nd goal made it 5-2. Madison showed they were not about to quit and they scored off the face-off. Danny Feeny scored at 1:18 and Godino picked up his 3rd goal of the game with only 7 seconds left.

The second half was all Summit. Two more goals by Kilkowski, a 4th goal by Godino, a 2nd goal by Ford and a goal by Nolan Prinzen salted the game away.

Madison had no answer to Summit's oppressive defense that completely stifled Madison throughout the 2nd half. It was very impressive. Another area where Summit dominated Madison was on face-offs. It had to be pretty depressing to Madison to see Summit score and then immediately get the ball back on the face-off. Brian Feeney some great saves on those ocassions that Madison could get off a good shot

Sat 05/22 Group 1
Semifinals vs Mt. Lakes
Home 1:00PM Won 9-2 Summit took on Mt. Lakes in a Group Semifinal game and it was clear that Mt. Lakes had come to play. Within 2 minutes Mt. Lakes scored to take a 1-0 lead. The next 10 minutes was a scoreless battle with Mt. Lakes putting up the best battle Summit had seen in some time. 26 seconds before the end of the quarter Nick Kilkowski took a feed from John Scioscia and scored. It was a classic Summit scoring play.

The 2nd quarter began with the score tied 1-1. At the 9:24 mark Jake Hall broke the tie with an assist from Mike Ford. In the next 3 minutes the dam broke and Nolan Prinzen and Kilkowski scored to give Summit a 4-1 lead at the half. The 3rd quarter was hard fought but Kilkowski managed the 3rd of his 4 goals off a feed from Danny Feeney. Starting the 4th quarter down 5-1 seemed to take some of the edge off Mt. Lakes and Summit added four more goals to put the game out of reach. Kilkowski scored unassisted, Marcel Godino (assist by Scioscia), David Kalin (unassisted) and Sonny Round (assist by Scioscia) finished the Summit scoring.

Wed 06/02 TOC Semifinals vs.Winner of Ridge/Immaculata Kean 7:00PM Won 11-4 Summit qualified for a second straight T of C final and along the way tied Ridgewood's state record for consecutive victories at 44. Summit can set the mark against No. 2 St. Joseph in the T of C final at 3 p.m. Saturday at Rutgers University.

Summit grabbed a 3-0 lead in the opening 7 1/2 minutes behind two goals by John Scioscia and one from junior attackman Mike Ford. Scioscia added his third goal with 6:25 remaining in the second quarter and Sonny Round netted his first of three with 1:33 left to give Summit a 5-0 lead at the half.

As usual the Summit offensive only half of the story. Its defense, led by Bobby Lawrence, Jules Godino, Joe Jaskolski and goalie Brian Feeney, was its same, suffocating self through out the game.

Ridge was limited to one shot in the first quarter, and just five shots in the second quarter.

Dave Kalin scored at the 9 minute mark of the 3rd, so it was 6-0 before Ridge finally scored with 6:51 to go in the third quarter. Tim Yager and Ford Ridge's goal for an 8-1 lead before Ridge scored back-to-back to bring Ridge to within 8-3 with 2:47 to go in the quarter. Round and Yager completed the scoring in the 4th quarter.

Sat 06/05 NJSIAA - Tounament of Champions Finals .vs St Josephs (Metuchen) Rutgers 3:00PM Won 6-1 Summit and St. Joseph battled for almost 23 minutes before Sonny Round broke the ice with a goal with 1:12 left in the 2nd quarter. The half ended with Summit ahead 1-0. Possibly the lowest score of the season. Even though Summit had only a single goal they had clearly out played St. Joseph, measured in shots on goal, time of possession, turnovers and quality of play. Of course none of those things count on the scoreboard. The huge crowd of Summit faithful were a bit on edge and looking for the Summit offense to break through with a cluster of goals.

However, the 3rd quarter started out like the 1st quarter. There was no scoring through the first nine minutes. Then in the next 2:22 Summit exploded for three goals. Danny Feeney got things started at the 3:00 minute mark. That seemed to put St. Joseph back on their heals and 46 seconds later Terry McKenna scored to make it 3-0. With :38 left on the clock Marcel Godino clicked and it was 4-0.

The 4th quarter was again a standoff until Sonny Round scored his 2nd goal of the game with only 2:22 left. Twenty one seconds later St. Joseph scored its only goal of the game. In the final minute Feeney took a nice pass from Nick Kilkowski and scored his 2nd goal of the game.

Summit out shot St. Joseph 24 to 8 and Brian Feeney was only credited with needing 2 saves as the vaunted Summit defense was again over powering.

With the victory Summit not only earned the Championship Trophy as clearly the best lacrosse team in New Jersey, but set the record for the most consecutive victories (45) in the history of New Jersey lacrosse. A truly amazing season!
