Thu 03/04 Ramapo Public B 2nd Round Away Lost 3-2 in Overtime - Summit (11th seed) traveled to Munsey, NY to meet Ramapo (6th seed) and after a period of the teams going scoreless, the action heated up. After a Ramapo goal, Michael Nyitray scored on a blazer but Ramapo soon went ahead once again 2-1. It stayed that way until, with 40 seconds remaining in the game, Summit scored after pulling their goalie. With a loose puck in front, Bobby Lawrence slid into the crease followed by 2 other Hilltoppers. Miraculously, the puck found the back of the net and the Summit fans were ecstatic. This excitement vanished soon after the OT started. Summit drew a penalty when a forward split the Hilltopper defense and a hook was called. Seven seconds later a shot from the point was tipped in ending Summit’s successful season, leaving them with a record of 15-7-4 but in possession of the Union County trophy.
