Summit took the opening kick off from Rahway not knowing what to expect from a team they hadn't played since 1995. Summit quickly established their dominance as they marched 74 yards in 13 plays. Eleven of those plays featured the running of Ryan Bringewatt, AJ Iarussi, Kyre Negron, and Stephen Whitman. A key 19 yard reception Will Weber keyed the drive. Bringewatt covered the final 4 yards to put Summit ahead to stay. On the third play of Rahway's first possession Nick Oristanio intercepted on Rahway's 30 yardline and returned to the 15. Bringewatt ran the ball to the 6 and then hit his "biggest" target, Ryan O'Malley for a TD. Mike Badgley kicked his second extra point.

It was 3 and out for Rahway on its second possession and Summit regained the ball at their 28. It took only 5 plays for Summit to score. Negron had runs of 8 yards and 21 yards for a 1st down at the Rahway 48. Iarussi and Peter Badgley gave Summit a 1st down at the 37 and Bringewatt broke loose for a 37 yard scamper for the TD. With 2:45 in the 1st quarter Summit had scored on each of its three possession. Rahway was again forced to punt without making a 1st down.

As the game moved into the 2nd quarter Summit's 5 play drive stalled at the Rahway 16 and Summit brought on Mike Badgley to to try a 33 yard field goal. It was perfect. Finally on Rahway's 4th possession they came to life. Back-to- back runs of 49 and 21 yards resulted in a Rahway TD. The final possessions of the 1st half were a mix mistakes and big penalties on both sides of the ball. Some real excitement was caused when Justin Cyrus intercepted and had a nice return before he lost the ball as he was knocked OB. Five plays later he got even by intercepting again. The half ended 24-7.

Summit's final score of the game came on its second possession of the 2nd half when they recovered a fumble on the Rahway 37. Two runs by Bringewatt produced a 1st down at the 19 and Iarussi ran the rest of the way for the score. That was the final score of the game.

Bringewatt had 112 yards rushing in 14 carries and Iarussi gained 81 yards in 10 carries to lead the offense. Nick Oristanio had 10 tackles and an interception to highlight the defense.
