Summit had a real chance to upset the 5th seeded Bordentown. In the 7th innning it came down to a single pitch. If it called a strike, game over Summit wins. If it is called a ball game is tied and we go to extra innings. It was called a ball.

Summit scored one run in the 2nd and three more in the 5th. James Baumeister pitched 5 innings of shutout ball, aided by 2 two great catches by Nick Abbott at the center field wall. As a result , Summit carried a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning. The sixth didn't get off to a good start for Baumeister. A walk, a single and another walk loaded the bases with no one out. At this point Andrew Oristanio came on in relief. The first batter he faced singled to score 2 runs. After a sacrifice bunt moved a runner to 3rd, a sacrifice fly to right scored a 3rd run. A. Oristanio struck out the next batter to end the inning and Summit went to the top of the 7th holding a 4-3 lead. Summit went down 1-2-3 so it all came down to the final half inning.

The 7th started badly as the leadoff hitter doubled, and went to 3rd on a wild pitch. The next batter lined a shot to center that was caught by Abbott and ripped in in time to prevent the runner from trying to score. one out! The next batter hit a ground ball to 3rd. The infielder looked the runner back to 3rd, but then hesitated too long and failed to get the runner at 1st. At this point it was decided to intentionally walk a batter to load the bases. A wild pitch went back to the backstop and the runner a third raced home, but Fulton got the ball to Oristanio in time to tag the runner out. Suddenly all Summit needed was a single out and we win. The decision was made to again load the bases for a play at any base. The count was 2-2 ,then 3-2 and next pitch was called a ball instead of a strike and the game was tied. Oristanio struck out the next batter for the final out.

Summit went down 1-2-3 again in the 8th. In the bottom of the inning Oristanio struck out the first two batters, but in the case of the 2nd strikeout the ball got away from the catcher and the runner was safe at 1st. The next batter flied out to right for what would have been the 3rd out. The next batter was walked and that was follwed with a single and the game was over.

Summit's run in the 4th inning came when Matt Scheer was hit by the pitcher and Matt DeWald doubled. Three more runs came in the 5th. Andrew Oristanio walked, stole 2nd and scored when Nick Oristanio doubled. Scheer singled in Nick Oristanio and another DeWald double scored Scheer.
