Summit lost another close game to Dayton at Dayton's home field. Summit drew first blood in the top of the 3rd. James Kennedy started the inning with a single but was erased by a Joe Weil fielder's choice. Kyle Fries walked and Nick Oristanio struck a 2 RBI single. Unfortunately, Dayton struck back with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to tie things up. Dayton added an unearned run in the 5th to go up 3-2. Dayton scored again in the 6th with a leadoff double and an RBI single.

Summit's final at bat started well when Matt Scheer drew a leadoff walk and Andrew Perry singled to get the tieing run on base. After two outs Kennedy was safe on an infield error that allowed Scheer to score. That left Perry in scoring position on 3rd, but it was not to be. A 5-3 ground out left Summit one run short.

James Baumeister went the distance for Summit in a losing cause.
