Doubles: Fries(1) |
The final score of 8-2 does not do justice to pitching job done by Curtis Slaght. Four Summit errors and a few bad decisions undermined the 5 1/3 innings he pitched. GL certainly made a lot more out its 5 hits than Summit made out of its 6 hits. GL out played Summit on the base paths repeated advancing their runners into scoring position.
Summit drew first blood in the 2nd innning when Tanner Fulton got things started with a single. This was followed by singles from Nick Abbott, Kyle Fries and Joe Weil. But Summit was to have only two more base runners in the final 5 innings. One a walk to Fulton and the other a double by Fries.
