Sophomore Andrew Oristanio had a fine day on the mound, going six innings, striking out 10, and allowing only 1 run on 2 hits. Travis Barr came on in relief in the 7th inning, striking out 2 and not allowing any runs. As a result Summit won its first round game in the Cougar invitational. Unfortunately, heavy rain washed out the Championship game. It isn't clear when the game made be made up.Summit jumped all over Mt. Lakes with 5 runs in the first inning. The game opened with three consecutive singles by Kyle Fries, Matt Scheer and Nick Oristanio. The last one drove in two runs. Walks to Matt DeWald and Andrew Perry loaded the bases. Andrew Oristanio scored his older brother with a sacrifice fly. Tanner Fulton's single drove in Dewald and Perry.
Summit added two more runs in the 4th inning resulting from a single by Joe Weil, walks to Fries and N. Oristanio, and a 2 RBI single DeWald.
