Summit scored its only run to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. However, from there on, the Parsippny's pitcher stiffled the Sumit bats. Along the way, the Parsippany pitcher struck out 11 Hilltoppers and only walked 1 batter.

Mike Nitzberg started on the mound for Summit and allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, but pitched better than that score would indicate. Curtis Slaght pitched the final three innings and allowed only one hit. If it weren't for his first pitch, that hit a batter, he wouldn't have allowed any runs.

Summit's lone run resulted from a single by Matt Scheer followed by a double by Nick Oristanio.

In spite of the fact that Summit lost, this was a very well played game by all concerned. Summit went error free and Parsippany made an error in the 1st inning, and was error free from there. The Full seven innnings were played in 1 hour and 42 minutes
