Summit drew first Blood in the top of the 2nd inning from a single by Jamie Kennedy, a Tanner Fulton walk and an RBI double by Andrew Oristanio. Pingry came back in the bottom of the 2nd with 2 runs (only one earned). The leadoff hitter was walked and that was followed by Summit's only error plus two more singles. Pingry extended the lead to 3-1 with walk, a single and a sacrifice fly.

Summit scored 3 runs in the 5th to retake the lead 4-3. Sophomore Nick Abbott got the inning going with a home run over the right field fence. Kyle Fries doubled, Weil walked and Nick oristanio singled to drive in a run. That left two on and no outs. Unfortunately the first of three double plays by Pingry dampend the excitment for the Summit fans. Matt Scheer did single in another run before the inning ended.

The 5th started badly for James Baumiester. The leadoff hitter's walk was followed by three consecutive singles. At this point Mike Nitzberg took the mound in relief. Sadly, Pingry scored 5 runs on 5 hits and and two walks. Summit tried to get a 2 out rally going in the 6th with two walks and a single, but a deep fly to right by N Oristanio, that looked like a home run, was caught at the fence.
