Summit teed off on the surprisingly hapless Rahway Starter for 7 runs in the first inning. Rahway's replacement had trouble finding the plate , and the third pitcher wasn't much better. Over the first three innings Summit amassed 20 runs and coasted to a five inning Mercy rule win. The stats pretty much tell the story!
Andrew Oristanio started and got credit for the win. Mike Nitzberg pitched an inning and Curtis Slaght covered the final two innings. The three combined for a 4 hit shutout
Nick Abbott pulled off the most amazing catchs in deep center that anyone has seen in a decade. Unfortunately, in the next inning he slipped on home plate while scoring a run, injured his ankle, when down in a heap and had to be carried off the field. He was taken to overlook and we all have our fingers crossed.
