Doubles: Weil(1)
Hit batters: Oristanio, N(1)
|
The first batter for Scotch Plains hit a 2-2 pitch over the left center fence. That seemed to set the tone of the game. Over the 4 innings that Scotch Plains came to bat, they scored 13 runs, including three home runs (all in left center). To make matters worse Scotch Plains' Kovacs limited Summit to 3 hits and 2 runs.
Summit's two runs came when Andrew Perry led off the top of the 4th inning with a single, went to 2nd when James Baumeister got on via and infield error, took third on a balk and was driven in by Tanner Fulton's ground ball out. Baumeister was driven in when Joe Weil doubled.
