It seemed like someone made a decision to let everyone just have fun in this final game of the season, and fun it was for both fans and players. The fans saw more drives to the hoop, steals leading to fast break points and more great assists than the rest of the season combined. It was a pleasure to watch. Summit led from the start and were up by 9 at the half. The big move took place in the 3rd quarter when Summit overwhelmed Hillside and picked up a lot of transition baskets. Nine points by Cris Cafiero and 11 points by Ba'Shawn Mickens enabled Summit to build a 21 point lead and put the game away.
Helped by the number of transition layups, Summit hit a season high 58%of its shots from the floor. Mickens (34 points) and Cafiero (14 points) led the offense. Clayton Johnson was big on defense with 10 rebounds, many of which led to fast-break points.
