Summit hosted Delsea (17-4) in the second game of the Hoops for Hope night. Seven points by Kate Martino and 6 points by Kelly Osmulski helped Summit gain a 17-12 advantage in the 1st quarter. Delsea chipped away two of the points to get to within 3 points at halftime. The Summit defense held Delsea to only six point in the 3rd quarter, while Osmulski, Martino, Nicole Johnson and Amanda Murphy combined for 14 points and a comfortable 11 point lead going to the 4th quarter.
At least the fans thought it was comfortable. Over the next 6 minutes Delsea's #23 ran up 10 unanswered points and moved Delsea to within one point 43-42. With 1:51 on the clock, two free throws gave Delsea their first lead since early in the 1st quarter. Incredibly, Summit had gone 6:09 without a point. Over the next 80 seconds the ball changed hands numerous times. Finally, with less than 25 seconds left in the game, Osmulski finally broke the ice for Summit and made a layup to regain a one point lead. The last few seconds were a mad scramble, but those two points were enough for a win.
