| Summit, the 11th seed, traveled to Johnson, the 6th seed, for the 1st round of the State tournament. The 1st half was closely played but the Summit scorers, with the exception of Kate Martino (14 points), had difficulty finding the hoop. Johnson carried a 6 point lead at halftime. Summit battled back in the 3rd quarter with a 7-1 run to pull within 1 point, 25-24. However, a series of four turnovers that led directly to Johnson layups, allowed Johnson to pull away to a 43-31 lead going into the 4th quarter. Summit had a brief run at the beginning of the final quarter as they scored the first five point (3 by Nicole Johnson and 2 by Martino). Johnson's heavily senior line up took over and quickly re-established a 10 point lead and made 10 free throws down the stretch to keep the game out of reach.
Summit finished their season with 14-11 record.
